I was recently referred to Carolina Hair Company by a couple of friends. I was very pleased with their service (cut and color) and even took my kids back a couple of days later to get their hair cut as well. I was able to get appointments within just a couple of days time - often you can even get an appointment on the same day. They also have evening and weekend appointments which is great for a mom like me.

They are conveniently located in Apex on the corner of 55 and Apex Peakway (in the shopping center where Rudinos is located).

I am not getting paid or receiving any kind of perks for this post, but I know I am always looking for a good place for a hair cut and was excited to find Melissa at Carolina Hair Company, so I wanted to share with my readers.

J.Crew Warehouse Sale in Chapel Hill

The J.Crew Warehouse sale is coming back to Chapel Hill. It's kind of crazy, but I found some great pieces last time for a fraction of normal J.Crew prices.

Here's the little tidbit I posted about the last sale I went to:
Be sure to wear a tank top and some leggings or tight fighting pants (I wore my running leggings) because there are no dressing rooms. You will want to be able to try on clothes over top of what you are wearing. Also, it would be best to go with a friend you trust to act as your mirror for you! :) It is a little bit crazy with boxes and boxes sitting everywhere. Things aren't organized by type or size, but I still managed to find several super cute pieces. I also found some really cute things for the kids. Happy shopping!

Tornado Relief

My heart goes out to all those affected by the tornadoes. There are several things going on around the area right now if you want to help provide relief to families in need:

(1) Raleigh Tornado Fundraiser - purchase items and services donated by local businesses with proceeds going to the tornado victims.

(2) Easter Basket Donations: bring any Easter basket items for children affected by Saturday's storms to the PetSmart parking lot (Apex) from 12-1pm on Friday, April 22. (Items needed: baskets, candy, coloring books, crayons, stickers, stuffed animals, small toys, etc.)

The Easter baskets will be distributed by Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Look for the Paramount Realty /SearchApexHomes.com black Camry to drop off your donations.

(3)WRAL also has a list of organizations that you can donate money to.

Maggiano's

Maggiano's is technically outside of Wake county, but so worth the short drive to Southpoint to eat there!

In case you don't know, they usually have this awesome deal where you can choose a pasta dish (there is a list of about 12 dishes to choose from) for $12.95. Then at the end of your meal you get to choose another dish from the list that they will wrap up to take home with you. So for $12.95 you get TWO super delicious meals!! And the portions are huge so it ends up making about 4 meals for me personally. :)

Also, if you sign-up for their email list they will send you other coupons. My favorite is the coupon to get a dessert for $2!

Free Child ID Kit

The Apex police department is offering a free child ID kit. Each kit includes a CD that contains the child's biographical information, a photo, and fingerprints.
